I enjoyed this series for two reasons. First, it is very well-written. I suspect this is a side project for an established author who didn't want the hate mail. Second - and this will be hard to process - I thoroughly agreed with the political themes presented.
There are a lot of scathing reviews because certain "Untouchable" people are the villains. Well, boo-hoo. Sometimes people are bad. Sometimes innocent people are wrongfully demonized because their leaders are troglodytes. Sometimes beloved politicians are despicably evil. Sometimes the only solution is to win, regardless of the carnage.
If you can't handle it, don't read it.
